Fresh Picked: Local Farmers’ Markets

Fresh Picked: Local Farmers’ Markets

Spring is approaching and so are the openings of many local farmers’ markets in Fairfield County. I love that our communities support “locally-grown”. There are still working farms in Connecticut, which can be enjoyed from spring through fall. Here is a short list of some of my favorites. Please contact me if I can add one of your favorites.

Georgetown Farmers Market is open May through October in Georgetown Connecticut.

Warrups Farm is an old-fashioned farm with maple sugar demonstrations. The farmers market is open from July through September. They also are at the Weston Farmers market during the spring and summer at the Weston Historical Society.

Silvermans Farm is a local favorite in Easton Connecticut.

Westport Farmers Market is open during the winter at Gilbertie’s Herb Garden on Sylvan Lane. During the summer, the market opens on Imperial Avenue.

Stietzel Family Farm is located in Redding, but open at the winter farmers market at the Norfield Grange in Weston.

Ambler Farm is a stunning working farm in Wilton Connecticut. They have many community events there.

Saugatuck Congregational Church hosts a farmers’ market starting May in downtown Westport Connecticut.
